This is it – all things in one place. A sprinkling of all the stuff we have covered in all our classes to date: Audition Prep, Improv and “Skitprov,” Emoting, Character Acting, Physical Choices, Scene Work, Ensemble Work, Diction and Projecting and more! We will ultimately focus on a final monologue presentation for the showcase. This class is for beginners or experienced actors, and we will tailor class to the individual needs of our students while remaining true and dependent on the group dynamic – as is the case in any community theater production. This class is a mimic of the same course we are offering the adults, as we believe this age group is capable of an accelerated learning program and is often eager to learn and rise to the challenge. Admittedly, we will likely not take ourselves as seriously in this class, as we may in the adult class and – to clarify for any parents signing up your kids… No – we are not going to be teaching your kid show to do dishes, sorry.

Denise Page has been acting since she was a kid (first unofficial role was as Santa Claus in her in-school preschool class holiday presentation… it’s possible no one attended this performance, but it DID happen!) Some recent favorite roles at the Academy include: Mama Rose in Gypsy!, Nancy in Oliver!, Miss Hannigan in Annie, Ado Annie in Oklahoma! Other recent credits include Mrs. Cratchit in a Christmas Carol, Provincetown Theater; Mrs. Gibbs, Our Town at Cape Rep Theater; Gayle & Rhonda in Almost, Maine, Eventide Theater. Denise LOVES teaching. She loves watching her students grow and shine on stage. Her philosophy is that anyone can do this as long as they are willing to dig in and expand themselves a little... and then dig and expand a little more. She’s had many wonderful mentors over the years and passes their lessons onto her students. By day she is the Office Manager at the family business in Provincetown. Ryan started acting as an adult, but has been performing his entire life. When other kids got piano lessons, he was teaching himself accents and impressions to get his family to laugh at him (which they did already). Ryan loves to share the joy of performing with the various classes. Past credits include Wizard of Oz (Tin Man), Oliver (Bill Sykes), Annie (Bert Healy), Oklahoma (Curly), Streetcar Named Desire (Stanley) and Guys & Dolls (Nathan Detroit), to name a few. His first and all-time favorite role was playing NINE members of the D’Ysquith Family in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Ryan works as a firefighter/paramedic and lives in Eastham with his wife Megan and two kids, Esme & Gus.
